Morocco Tourist Attractions
General Information
Morocco is the oldest Kingdom in the Muslim world. It is located in North Africa with a coast on the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea between Algeria and Western Sahara. It is a country inhabited mainly by the Arabs and Berbers, who constitute more than 30 million inhabitants. In the Arab world, Morocco is considered to be a liberal country, which respects cultural differences.
The area of Morocco consists mostly of mountains. Three mountain ranges: the
High Atlas, Middle Atlas and Anti-Atlas, spread along the country from its south-western
to north-eastern part. In the subtropical climate, they are an interesting example
of a chilly and humid Alpine climate. Due to water reserves accumulated in the
form of snow caps, the springs exist here even in the dry summer periods. Much
more fertile and densely populated lowlands, spreading along the cost of the
Atlantic Ocean are subject to humid masses of oceanic air. As a result, they
are the most useful areas for agricultural development and they are the best
developed areas. On the other hand, the area located on the south-eastern side
of the Atlas is devoid of the inflow of humid oceanic air masses and consists
mainly of deserts and stony plateaus.
