Denis Island

The coralline island Denis lies on the edge of Seychelles. The majority of its inhabitants live in one (and the only) village of Saint Denis and are fishermen or farmers.

Bird Island

The island is known for the diversity of bird species which live there. On the island, among a great number of land turtles, lives the oldest turtle on the world named "Esmeralda" . It is a male, which weighs 320 kilos and is about 200 years old and due to its size it was entered into the Guinness World Records.

Silhouette Island

Silhouette Island is the third biggest island of Seychelles. One of the densest rain forests on the Indian Ocean grows here. For many years the island was the seat of the famous pirate Jean Hodoul who, according to a story, buried his treasures in one of the rock clefts on the island. The highest point is Mount Dauban ( at 740 m), surrounded by a rain forest full of natural treasures like orchids or a balsamic tree which can be only found on this island.

Cousin Island

This island with the total area of 25 hectares is one of the smallest granite islands of Seychelles and is situated about 6 kilometers west of Praslin. The island is a nature reserve, a home for many plant and animal species and the only island of archipelago without any visitors. Due to the fact, that the local animals have no enemies on the island, they are not afraid of humans.
