Climate
Thailand lies in the zone of hot and humid tropical monsoon climate. Only the
Malay Peninsula lies in the humid equatorial climate zone. There is a distinct
division between dry (from December to February) and rainy (from May to September)
season. Annual average temperatures amount to approx. 24-28ºC in the north
and 27-28ºC in the south of the country. The amount of rainfall depends
on the region. In the central part of the country it is 800-1,000 millimeters,
in the southern part about 4,500-4,800 millimeters, and in the mountains it
can even exceed 5,000 millimeters.
